My name is Eva Umlauf.

I was born in Switzerland into a Czech family. I grew up in Berne speaking and studying languages from an early age. I am fluent in Czech, Swiss German, German, French, English and Italian.

At the University of Berne, I studied pedagogics and anthropology, and I hold a Master of Arts.

Since 2009 I have worked as a language tutor in Mullumbimby, NSW in the Northern Rivers region.

I opened my language school Language Tuition Byron to follow my passion for languages. Language is one of the most important parts of culture. It enables people to communicate with each other, build relationships, connect and create a sense of community and belonging.

It is very important to me that students feel comfortable in my classroom. I provide a relaxed learning atmosphere in which I support and guide students in their language acquisition.

I wrote and self-published three textbooks preparing HSC students in NSW for their final exam in French, Italian and German. The textbooks support high school students in their exam preparation and their teachers in their class preparation.
